Spring Class Schedule

Wow have The Kitchen Girls been busy lately! We are working on our spring schedule right now. Lots of fun this spring! We will be rolling out some new classes so be sure to check back often.

Last night The Kitchen Girls attended the kick-off meeting for the Bloomington, Indiana Kitchen Incubator. What an fantastic program! This is an opportunity for so many small businesses to really make a presence in the local market. Nothing better than creating avenues to bring more local products to our marketplace. I will keep everyone posted as I hear news of their progress.

On Monday night I will be attending my first meeting of the local Master Gardener Program. I am so excited! Even someone who has gardened their entire life can stand to learn a few new tricks! I challenge everyone to learn something new this year. Take a class, find a mentor, just keep learning!

Bread Baking Class was a great success!!

Thanks to all participants in Saturday's "Baking Whole Grain Bread from Scratch" class. Especially thanks to Kitchen Girl Paula for teaching her bread baking skills to our willing participants. We are receiving fantastic feedback. Everyone went home with prepared dough, ready to rise and bake. Sounds like several participants were very motivated and spent some time baking after the class. Good for you!! That is what our classes are all about. Teaching skills that you will use. It is so exciting to us to know that we have taught you a skill that you will have for the rest of your lives. Fantastic weekend and a fantastic class. Thanks everyone and we hope to see you again soon! Remember, you don't have to wait for a scheduled to class to learn from The Kitchen Girls. We love to come to your home, or you can come to us. Class times are available outside the regularly scheduled monthly meetings. Give us a call and let us know what we can teach you!! Having a birthday or just having friends for the weekend? The seed catalogs are here, the seed catalogs are here!!

Seed catalogs are starting to arrive. Now is the time to spend an afternoon dreaming about what you want to grow this year and developing a feasible planting schedule. If you are like me, your dreams soon come crashing down as soon as you start working on your schedule. That is the time I realize that I do not have enough room to plant everything I would like to plant. Putting some thought now into how much time, and space you have available will set you on the right track for a fantastic growing season!
